update 10.8.4 failed

I can't see the image. You can't just paste it in. You have to use the camera icon on the toolbar.

However, there seems to be infrequent issues when the images don't appear when you do that, too.

Does it specifically state that it couldn't repair the permissions, or do they just come back the next time?

Have you tried booting into Recovery and Repairing the disk (not permissions)?

The listed SUID permissions don't matter, as far as I know. There are often things that won't be repaired because they are not broken, just changed.

How about the error message when you tried to install?

Have your repaired the Disk?

If the update states that there are permission problems it cannot fix, I don't know how to repair those specific ones.

It might require you to reinstall using the Recovery HD.

I have the same issue with all installing ways: AppStore, 10.8.4 combo, 10.8.4 update!

However as you can see the system is updated to the latest version.

I have no boot problems. In DU choosing my HD, the option 'repair disk' is incactive. Here what DU shows when tries to fix disk permissions.

Is it normal or should I think to try a clean install of Mac OS X?

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.

I resolved the problem!!!

Checking between the lines above the VodafoneFilter.kext - no dependency found for com.apple.kernel.iokit.

I uninstalled the vodafone mobile broadband application thinking that this may cause the problem.

I installed again the update 10.8.4 and the installation succeded!

So Lukullusyou may check for a third part app that probably causes the problem.

I can confirm too that this solution works.

I also had Wi-Fi connection issues that were solved by removing Vodafone Mobile Broadband.

Same for me. Use the VMB Uninstaller.app to remove everything from Vodafone Mobile Broadband. Installation was successful afterwards and Wifi worked again.
