Q: Got new iPhone and I want to clear my iPad of all kid games and music and start with my new iTunes account.

I bought an iPhone 5 yesterday.  Previously I had an iPad and listed it under my kids iTunes account.  I have started my own iTunes account with my new phone and would like to change my iPad over to my new iTunes account and sync my calendars on the two.  I do not want all my kids games and music on my new phone.  Ready to fly solo.  How do I clear everything off the iPad and start over?

iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.4

    Hi amos blue!

I believe that you will want to choose to "Erase all content and settings" on your iPad. I have an article here that can explain how to do this, and it can be found right here:

iOS: How to back up your data and set up as a new device

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137

Specifically, you can just go ahead and jump down to this section:

    4. Erase your device

Erasing all content and settings will delete all the data from your device, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, calendar information, and any other data. All device settings are restored to their factory condition.

To remove all settings and information from your device, tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. For more information about this feature, see iOS: Understanding 'Erase All Content and Settings'.

If you are unable to erase your device, restore the device using iTunes.

So you will want to follow those steps to erase your device, then set it up as a new device (instead of restoring from a backup.) Thanks for being a part of the Apple Support Communities!

    Regards,
