Jun 5, 2013 7:15 AM in response to travelbuyerby varjak paw,★HelpfulI'm not sure I follow. Personal Hotspot has never allowed connection from one iPhone to another via 3G technology. The options have always only been WiFi, Bluetooth or USB. The entire point of Personal Hotspot is to allow a device that lacks cell capabilities to connect to a cell network, by sharing the cell connection of another device.

My problem is the following. When I go to the librery with my Mac to study, I have no internet connection thus I want to use the 3g of my Iphone 5 to connect my Mac to the network. I do not know if it is clearer.

Jun 5, 2013 12:19 PM in response to travelbuyerby chattphotos,Are you wanting to connect to the University network via your iPhone's wifi hotspot feature? (You will need to talk to the admins about VPN access)
But it really is not possible to share an internet connection over native 3G, your phone acts as a translator so that you can connect using Wifi, bluetooth, or the USB cable.
