I accidentally created my son's iCloud email under MY Apple ID. How do I delete it?

Hello,

I accidentally created my son's iCloud email under MY apple ID. I need to delete it because I was trying to creat an iCloud email account with his name. Well now his name/iCloud email is under my Apple ID. I do not want this because I was trying to create his own iCloud email and account so I could set up his new iPhone. Well I was on HIS iPod (which is set up under my apple id) and I am guessing I must have hit the wrong buttons because now his iCloud email has my apple ID password and is under my id.

Please help. I want to use his name for his iCloud email and if I want an iCloud email, I certainly do not want it connected to his with his name on it, I would rather have my own name on it.

Thank you.

You mean in System Preferences>iCloud? this just disconnects you from the Mail server.

So what you are saying is that when I want to set up my iCloud email, the "system" will not let me create a new primary iCloud email because I already have one set up?

Yes.

So now when I set up his iPhone, I will have to choose a different iCloud email name for him?

I'm afraid so.

Is the current iCloud email then just sitting in the iCloud

Yes.

I'm not sure I understand what iCloud Alliases are either.

You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)

You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account, move it to another account, or reactivate it if you delete it.

I'm sorry: what's done is done. You can't move the address to another ID. I'm afraid you'll have to think of another one for him.

Also you can't remove it from your account - of course you can just turn Mail off in System Preferences>iCloud to stop reading it from the server. Or you can create up to three 'aliases' (extra addresses) for yourself, though the primary address can't be changed.

I already went into my Apple ID account and removed the iCloud email.

So what you are saying is that when I want to set up my iCloud email, the "system" will not let me create a new primary iCloud email because I already have one set up? I already deleted the iCloud email from his iPod. I went in to my Apple account through the computer under Management or whatever that was called and removed the iCloud email.

So now when I set up his iPhone, I will have to choose a different iCloud email name for him?

Is the current iCloud email then just sitting in the iCloud (because I do not have it "on" in any of my devices or phones yet since I wasn't ready to create my own iCloud email yet)? Sorry if I sound ignorant, I'm just so confused with all the accounts now and my kids having iPhones and iPods and iPad Minis, plus my stuff, and I havent' even created iCloud for myself yet! I'm not sure I understand what iCloud Alliases are either.
