I force quit my my old (2004ish) Mac Book Pro and now when I turn it on it's just the white screen/apple in the middle with the small circle spinning like it's trying to load but it never loads. Any thoughts?

you stumbled into a non macbook area, you really need the full course meal and instructions for how to maintain your system too, it seems.
