Sophos just deleted itself from my Mac?

Hi.

Thought i'm quite a knowledgeable Mac use, but was just updating Sophos Anti Virus and my Mac turned off becuase I forgot to plug it in.

But when I then connect it to the power and turn it on again, it look quite a while to turn back on again and then when it did load, the Sophos icon in the dock had changed to a question mark rather than the icon, and when i try and open the programme from the icon in the top bar of my Mac, nothing happens.

Just trying to install Sophos Anvi Virus again, but really baffled and concerned as to why this could have happened??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Sophos was being replaced with a new copy and wasn't finished when interrupted, thus the file system wasn't notified, thus when the Alias in the Dock pointed to nothing and turned into a Question Mark like "where's the beef?"

The portion in the icon bar still was loaded and not yet fixed or updated and it also couldn't do anything when it couldn't find the original program.

Just drag the ? off the Dock so it goes poof.

Once your Sophos is reinstalled, drag a new alias to the Dock if it doesn't already do it for you.
