Upgraded to 10.8.4, now Messages can't communicate with the Yahoo! account "".

That is strange.

I have no issue logging in with my Yahoo account.

Comparing it with the Yahoo Beta app tells you only limited things as they login to different servers.

I would try manually unticking the "Enable This Account" box and then re-ticking in the Messages > Preferences > Accounts

just installed the 10.8.4 update and see a slightly different issue. AIM and Jabber accounts do NOT work, but Yahoo does.

More Strangeness here as well now.

Started up my computer this evening and launched Messages and yahoo will not sing in saying my password is "wrong".

However launched Keychain Access and entered the saved password and it was still refused.

Also Yahoo Beta for Mac is also not allowing me to Login saying my credentials are wrong.

I also checked the stored password in a keychain on another computer.

I did find I was no longer able to Login to Yahoo Web Mail (it said I had not done so for 4 months)

Restarting this has not improved things in Messages or Yahoo for Mac.

However I now see that there is now a a new version (3.0.2 not listed as beta) available.

It is looking like it is the Yahoo end.

Changed my password at Yahoo and now have access.

And checked that my Mac was an allowed Device.

go figure, try several hours later and everything connects fine with Messages now. Something was just amiss with Messages as Adium could connect fine with everything.
