Q: How do I get a version of Airport Utility for iPad that will work will AEX running .11g?

I will be traveling to hotels that only supply ethernet wired internet connection.

I wish to take my AEx (.11g) to use as a router.

I will only take iPad and iPhone on my travel.

I need the version of Airport Utility that is compatible with .11g AEx.

How do I get this?

(At home I have a Windows PC that runs Utility v5.6.1 for Windows; I need similar for IOS 5.1.1 iPad)

Airport Express Admin Utility, iOS 5.1.1

    Unfortunately, AirPort Utility for the iPad, iPhone, etc. is not compatible with older versions of the AirPort Express.

     

    You will need a new AirPort Express or the previous version A1264 if you want to be able to administer the AirPort Express with an iOS device.

    Hi Bob

    I think you have confirmed the opinion generally out there that my old .11g AEx is not compatible with the current Airport Utility for IOS .

    I take it that you haven't got an answer to my question "How do I get a (.11g compatible) version . . ."?

    I believe that I already answered the question previously. Unfortunately, there is not really room for opinions here if you are asking about AirPort Utility for the iPad.

     

    The fact is that it is not compatible with older versions of the AirPort Express.
