Lost system preferences

I have lost System Preferences when I click on the Apple icon. I may have done something when trying to 'enable cookies" -- help?

Hello lorna,

Can't tell what OS or machine you have. If you have Time machine enabled that could provide one path.

It's always particularly helpful when your profile is filled out (and up to date). Ideally you should mention your product or computer model, the model identifier and the OS you are running. To find the detail go to … > About this Mac > (plus) More info. A rough guide to your location can often help too. Anyone trying to help you would be greatly encouraged to see this.

If sounds like the system preferences are in the menu, but nothing happens when your click on it, if that is correct then try moving this file (com.apple.systempreferences.plist) to the trash then restart your computer then give it a try.

Note: You will need to be in the finder, then click on the go menu item then select library once open find the preference folder then the file (com.apple.systempreferences.plist).
