Gidday guys
Currently I have a log out button on my app, but I'm looking at ways to reduce screen clutter. Is a log out button neccessary? Or would a log out option in the user's settings screen be sufficient? The app is something similar to Red Karaoke.

Log out of what?
No reason you can't have the logout button on a user's settings screen. In fact, you may want to add a switch users button as well.
If there is a need to continually log out of a service for privacy or security reasons then instead of a logout button you should automatically log out and make the user log back in every time (like the itunes connect app) but for a karaoke service logging out or switching accounts is not important enought to take up space anywhere but a user's settings screen.
