I have lost my ipod shuffle for ages but recently found it, I went to charge it on my laptop but the orange light does not come on or flash can someone help me?

I love my iPod shuffle, and I would be concerned too if it didn't power on or charge. I found a resource with steps you can take to troubleshoot this:
