Q: Is my logic board dead or not?
I had a Powerbook G4 Al with a dead screen and got a Powerbook G4 Al with a dead body (fallen on a hard floor) in order to make one full Powerbook.
I found that the drives on the dead body were working (DVDcombi alright, hard disk unreadable on another computer), but nothing else: battery not charging, no power on USB, but the chips on the logic board weren't as cold as expected. With battery and drives out I can put the powerbook on and off, sort of, nothing happens but the power drain goes from 3,7W to 7W and back to 3,7W when playing with the on/off button. Before I took out the drives I once heard four beeps.
The logic board seems dead, or at least not in working order, but is there a way to test it? I don't want to get rid of a working logic board.
