I have lost imovie. The installation disc is not recognised when I insert it. A message tells me it's a blank disc.

I have lost imovie. I have 15-inch MacBook Pro Applications Itall DVD. When I insert the disc it is not recognised and a message comes up in itune to say I have inserted a blank disc. Can anyone help please?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Either the disk is faulty or your Superdrive is.


Try cleaning the Superdrive with a propriatory CD/DVD lens cleaner that uses tiny brushes. All computer stores sell them.


Next, do this:


Resetting the SMC (System Management Controller) on Intel-based Macs:

Reboot, repair permissions, and try again.
