I just drove down into the actual thread... in it, it does show varjak paw's last participation in that thread was in 2014. = My mistake
This indicates that the thread is what we fondly refer to as a "Zombie Thread" = a result of SPAM removal from the thread

--Also note that for the initial cert like myself you need courses MAC-16A and SVC-16A. If you have access to gsx or atlas you can find the courses online for free here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205734 and https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205738. That's a little more re-assuring other than the amount of money you have to spend
