Thank you for the question. I would recommend closing all applications in the multitasking menu and then restart the device. Also, check to see how much space is available on the device as this can limit device functionality if it is at capacity. You can check device capacity by going to Settings > General > About.

Also, some e-mail clients are set to convert file format upon sending and this could be the cause of the issue. If this is the case, you would need to refer to the sender to have them correct this in their preferences of their e-mail client.
