Macbook Pro to Panasonic Viera TV through HDMI "no signal"

Check connections

When using an external display be sure to check the following:

1. If you're using an Apple notebook, confirm the AC power cable or adapter is securely connected to the computer and the cable providing power to the display is also secure. It is always good to have your notebook connected to AC power when an external display is in use.
2. Confirm display adapters are fully seated in their respective connections and that they are supported models and for the computer and display. Refer to these articles to assist you with adapter compatibility and further configuration information:

3. Remove all display cable extenders, KVM switches, or other like devices and retest to determine if the issue is resolved.
4. Try unplugging the video adapter or cable and then plug it back in.
5. If more than one video adapter is in use (or "daisy-chained"), troubleshoot by using only one adapter.

   Example: A mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter connected to a DVI to HDMI adapter is an unsupported configuration because there is a series of adapters in use.

6. If available, try using a different display and or adapter (or use a different connector by using DVI instead of VGA, for instance).

Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.Reset the resolutionStart by resetting the Mac's parameter RAM. If the display does not come up, was previously set to an unsupported resolution, and still results in no video:

1. Start up in Safe Mode.
2. From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
3. Choose Displaysfrom the View menu to open the preferences pane.
4. Select any resolution and refresh rate that your display supports.
5. Restart your computer.

I am also having problems connecting macbook pro to a new panasonic smart tv via HDMI. The TV does not seem to detect the connection and the mac also does not detect the TV. The "mirror" option does not appear, apparently because the mac isn't detecting a connection to the TV. Can anyone help?

I am having similar problems connecting my MacBook Air 11" via a miniport-HDMI cable to a Panasonic Viera LCD TV (TX-37LZD850A). The MacBook Air does not recognize the TV in the Display configuration, and the TV display for the relevant HDMI port remains blank.

I have tried to connect the MacBook Air to 2 Panasonic LCD TV's using the same cable with the same result each time, yet connecting to an LG or Samsung TV both resulted in the display from the MacBook appearing almost instantly on the TV's and the TV's each appearing in the Display configuration of the MacBook when connected.

I have not found any hint of a solution to this in the Panasonic TV's handbook either

I had the same problem !

What i did was, i used the other end of the hdmi cable to go into my mac... so i basically just turn the cable around.. and for some reason it worked.

Update: it may be necessary to reboot the Mac for the TV to show the video. On the other hand, clicking the "Aspect" button of the TV remote control and selecting "Sidecut Zoom" may be needed to show full screen (if Automatic or other setting does not do it right). Just for the record.

I had the same problem ("no signal" message) using a Mac mini late 2012 (HDMI port), but fixed it just pressing the Panasonic Viera remote-control top right Input-AV button. Great!
