Verify payment details then "For assistance contact iTunes support"

I go to App Store, then my account, payment info, and it tells me to verify.

I enter my information and it comes up with "For assistance, contact iTunes support -iTunes support link-"

I have called support but they were useless, as usual.

Any ideas?

Not sure what number that you called as I'm not aware of any phone support for iTunes. You should be able to contact iTunes Support via email via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
