I'm new to ML. Is there a good book about it? Nothing too heavy but informative about getting the best out of it?

Free is good though - perfect if you've got a tablet, Kindle or iDevice, etc. to store/read it on.
I would suggest David Pogue's "Mountain Lion: The Missing Manual". Available from Amazon.
