1080 60p vs 1080 30 question
The camera I am using his no setting for 30p or 29.97p. It only offers 1080/60p.
I am editing in 30p, so does this mean that every other frame is thrown away? Does FCPX access those frames if I time stretch a clip?

What camera is this exactly? 1080p60 usually means 59.94fps. If you edit in a 29.97fps half the frames are thrown away. The purpose of shooting a high frame rate and editing at a lower frame rate is usually to allow you to conform the video to the full frame rate to create slow motion.
I'm testing a Sony NEX-VG30. I'm suprised to find this camera has no option for 30fps.
From the manual:
Looks like I would have to move up to the NEXEA50 to get true 30p recording. A camera costing twice as much.
So the question is: when editing at 30p is there an advantage of shooting 30p insted of 60p?
.
The only advantage is it takes less card and drive space than 60p.
