I've been in Japan since Feb., but why has my Apple computer suddenly (June) switched from English to Japanese

I've been using my desktop like normal (brought to Japan from USA in Feb). Today, out of the blue, everything is in Japanese. I don't want that! For example, when I use SKYPE, the FILE-EDIT-etc. is in Japanese. Even my System Preferences shows each icon with Japanese letters underneath. What happened? How do I get it back to English?

Got it! The flag logo, row 1. But when I click on it, I get a grey box with yellow triangle and exclamation point ... The rest is Japanese except for an OK button. When I click on the others, I get a a huge amount of data info or the other button shuts me out back to screen page. ???

Isn't it something like "変更は次回ログインした時にFinderで有効になります。また、次回開いた時にアプリケーションで有効になります。"?

It means "Changes take effect in the Finder the next time you log in. Changes take effect in applications next time you open them."

Thank you for your help so far. I am still in the same situation.

When I hit System Preferences, this is all I get. I cannot see any list or get any other choices.

1. When I hit OK, the screen goes away.

2. When I hit the left button, I get a long list of data, of no help.

3. When I hit the far right botton, I go back to my page with icons with Japanese writing.

I have tried typing in the comment section but my note doesn"t apeear to go anywhere when I click OK.

???
