iPad mini | AT&T 7 days 1GB data/$0.99 plan option?

I had the 250MB/30 day plan for $14.99. However, I didn't renew it, and went without data for a couple days. When I went back on to subscribe to the 250MB/30 day plan, I saw another plan, 1GB for 7 days, for just $0.99. So I tried it. And sure enough, I got 1GB of data for 7 days.

Anyone else get offered this data plan? I wonder if it's a one-time thing and after the 7 days, it will be gone. If not, I'll be using this every week. $4/month for 4GB??? That's what they should be charging anyway!

I'll post back after 7 days to see if lets me continue this great plan. Also, although it doesn't say LTE next to that plan, I am getting LTE speeds and I get the LTE icon on top. I don't know if this is one of those offers you get after you don't renew and it's gone....

Anyone else have any info on this?

I received an email from Apple telling me about this plan. I thought it must be a mistake and that AT&T would never sell a 7 day pass for iPad at such a sensible price. It is legit however. I activated cellular data on my iPad and was given the option to add this plan. I like it! No indication that it might be a short term promotion but I will not be surprised if this price does not last very long. It the interim I'm loading up.

Good luck with that. Here in the UK I signed a contract in the nick of time (really - two days) and have a rolling 28 day contract for unlimited data, and more phone time and texting than I would imagine using ever, for £20.42 (That's around $31 for the assumed audience in the USA a month) . They will have to prise that from my cold dead fingers.....

This is the information provided by AT&T regarding this plan.

1GB of Data for 7 Days: Plan available for a limited time only. Not available to existing customers on a postpaid data plan. Plan is not transferable and cannot be combined with other offers. Limit one per customer. Your session automatically starts upon activation of the plan. Plan does not automatically renew. Coverage not available in all areas. Subject to Wireless Customer Agreement. Geographic, usage, and other terms, conditions, and restrictions apply. Taxes and other charges apply. 1GB of data available for 7 days or until allotment is used. For information on full terms and charges, see Session-Based Wireless Data Services Agreement at att.com/wirelesslegal.

When the 7 days expire, lets see if we get the option to renew the same plan again. I assume it will continue for a limited time only based on the info above.

It's a really sensible plan. 1GB that I probably wouldn't use in a week anyway but if they had this plan on auto renew I'd just keep it there and pay for it out of convienence. I can't be alone in that. I'd think that they'd make up the difference with like minded folks. They don't use their iPad for incredible data downloads but for casual browsing and the occasional YouTube video.

As it is I occasionally buy the 3GB deal but its expensive overkill for my needs so I cancel it immediately.

Just got a new iPad mini. When activating the data plan, I noticed this plan as well. So I signed up for this plan naturally. I then looked at the data plan options on my other iPad mini, and there it is, 1GB/$0.99 plan is available also, despite the fact that this iPad mini is already on a month-to-month 3GB/$30 plan. So this is not limited to new customers only.

It is LTE if you get LTE where you are located. I don't get LTE here in Denver Colorado so it doesn't concern me yet.

Then I wonder why they don't include the text "LTE" in the button. There is certainly enough room.

Maybe the OP (Bryan) will come back and tell us whether his plan renewed and if he got LTE service.
