Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

When I try to launch itunes from desktop shortcut I get this box message,"The file itunes itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes".Please help.

When I try to launch itunes from my laptop desktop I get this box message,"The file itunes library itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes". I had used it 2 days prior and also updated just prior to that.But in that update I didn't update Quicktime.Any help please.

That definitely sounds frustrating.


I recommend completely uninstalling iTunes and all related components, as outlined in this article:


Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

Then, once you have removed the components in order, let's reinstall via http://apple.com/itunes/download
