Very strange behaviour!

My Apple Mail client behaves very strange. First of all - it takes a lot of time to download e-mail messages from the exchange server. I also have Outlook for Mac and it does it much faster. Besides - two of my e-mail account's sent-boxes now and then just disappear from the view.
