problem updating iPhone 4s software

Problem updating 4S software..from 5.0.1 to 6.1.4..Now it is showing to connect to iTunes, though it's been connected..!!

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.0.1

then you definitely need to unplug it and plug it back in so you can restore the device
