How do I transfer photos from my iPod to my Dell Inspiron?

I cannot figure out how to tranfer my iPod photos/videos to my Dell Inspiron. I have Windows 8, and what I have tried is going to the Start screen and clicking photos and right clicked. Then I clicked the button saying, Import, with the image of a camera. And then it will give me an option of what device to use, so then I click the Apple iPod. But then a screen shows up, where it is suppose to show all my photos/videos, but then it tells me that I have no pictures or videos on my Apple iPod, when I indeed do. What can I do? Please help.

Been there.

I have Dropbox on my devices and computer.

It's a free download for all and works on any type of device.

It will automatically upload your photos and video via wifi from any device you can install it on.

Once you open an encrypted Dropbox you can access it from any device it is on. Pretty great if you know you took a photo of something but can't remember if it is on the phone, iPod or computer. Just go to Dropbox on any of these and find all photos in one place, so you can send, print, whatever.

You get 5GB of free storage.

You can store more than pics and video.

Documents and back up of password Apps (I use WalletX which is also able to be used on any device)

It will automatically update documents and WalletX across all devices also.

You can delete photos from Dropbox directly (if you upload a picture of the inside of your purse by accident.)

Are these pictures on your touch no longer stored on your PC or in a backup somewhere? If so, you'll need the help of third party software to assist you with the task of extracting the photos from your iPod to your PC. Keep in mind that these synced photos are no longer in their full resolution, but instead are scaled down thumbnails of the original.

Google for "copy photos from iPod software" and you should get a number of hits.

If you stored these photos in full resolution, see this article for instructions on copying them from your iPod back to your PC.
