Why won't my Apple Mobile Device Service let me change the Start up type?

I recently got a new iPhone, but when i tried to sync it to iTunes, it wouldn't recognize my phone. I looked online and most people told me stop Apple mobile device service, then turn it on again. I tried, but it's not letting m press the stop or pause button. What should i do? I have Windows 7 and iTunes 11.0

See:

iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

I would start with

Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

Run this to help if it identifies the cause

iTunes for Windows: Device Sync Tests

Have you tried on another computer to help determine if you have a computer or iPod problem?
