Anybody know what "QuickTime Error -6662" is? I got this after a failed encoding. I was trying to transcode DV25 material down to the iPod format.(H.264 for iPod)
I was using the standard iPod preset in Compressor to convert DV25 NTSC video into an M4V for playback on an iPod. I also received this same error today, but it also had a "2x" in front of Quicktime.(I'm guessing that the 2x implies that it tried twice?) Also, the material is around 50 to 60 minutes in length in case that yields some insight.
Memory allocation for a buffer or buffer pool failed.
What happens if you use different source? Does it still happen after a reboot? Yeah, the "2x" means it tried twice on that machine. The third time forces a failover to another node if this is a cluster. Maybe you ran out of memory or something.
Interestingly, I modified the Compressor iPod preset to not do MultiPass and Compressor handles the files fine. Perhaps it did run out of memory, though the machine that I'm using has 2GB of RAM plus a lot of HD to spare. Perhaps the multipass mis-manages the memory? Or perhaps it did indeed just run out. Is there a recommendation for free HD space?(if Compressor caches to the drive)
