I bought this computer today and went to update my software and then it told me to sign in so I did, then it brought me to a review page and said turn cookies on, which I did by going to safari preferences and hitting never block. But I restarted computer and it still says I don't have cookies on which...is...so I can't do anything. What do I do?

If you are referring to the App Store application in the Dock, there are no settings for Cookies. That is only for your browser which is not the App Store.
Perhaps you might be more specific about where you encounter this request.
I open the App store from the dock and go to sign in, I use my newly made apple account and it says This account hasn't been used with the itunes store and gives me a option to cancel or review, the review page says you have to turn cookies on and then I hit okay. It is the same cycle each time I try to log into my account though the app store. It won't let me buy anything either because it sends me straight to that review page .
You must first sign into iTunes Store with your new account. Open iTunes then just sign in with your new Apple ID. You may need to provide account information such as that associated with your credit card.

App store for my new imac keeps telling me to turn cookies on...when I do have them on? How do I fix this..
