I can't accept Photostream Invitation

I accept the e-mails; and accept the invite in iPhoto; my iCloud is on. I'm receiving the invitations; and I'm properly signed in. But when I click to accept the invititation, nothing happens at all and the sender's photos will not appear.

Can anyone help?

Just to be sure, you enabled both My Photo Stream and Shared Photo Stream in iPhoto and in the System Preferences > iCloud panel? (to enable it in the System Preferences you need to disclose the options behind the "Options" button besides "Photo Stream".

Is only the sender'spphoto stream giving trouble? Can you create your own Shared Photo Stream?

You don't have to enable "Automatic Import" and "Automatic Upload" to be able to view shared photo streams.

and that I can't seem to type in the description of the stream window.

Your own stream, or the one you subscribed to?

Two other problems are that I can't re-name my iCloud account;

Where do you want to rename your iCloud account - sorry, I do not understand.

Thanks much- somehow it started working- I say it's because like you said- I had to enable both types streaming for it to work; which is fine for me. Worried about people who don't want their automatic desktop sceen when they don't want someone at a remote site to see the pics they just took. But the solution worked for me.

Still can't re-namu my iCloud account here in China- and maybe that's why.

Thanks again.

You can only change the settings for the stream, if you are signed into iCloud as the owner of the stream, as shown in the panel above.

What do you mean by "rename" iCloud account? The name of an account cannot be changed, but you should be able to switch between account. The iCloud account is tied to AppleID - if you use a different AppleID, you will be using a different iCloud account with different data, etc. You should be able to maintain your AppleID or to create a new one at MyAppleID, see

Apple ID support page

If you cannot connect properly to certain sites or services are not available, it can be caused by intercepting certain domains by the D N S server of your provider in China, your personal firewall, or because the billing address of the AppleID you are using is not registered with a credit card that is valid at your current address.
