Macbook Black and White Differences

What is the difference between the the Macbook 15" in White and in Black with 2.0 ghz intel core duo? '

From what I can tell the only difference is that the Black one has 80 gigs instead of 60 gigs standard but is $200 more?

There has to be another difference or else it would be cheaper to just upgrade the memory on the white one...

Do you mean the white MacBook 13.3 inch? Here are the only differences:

1. One is white, and one is black

2. The hard drive is bigger on the black model (20 gigs more)

3. The black has a matte finish to the case, as the white one is glossy.

So if you upgrade the hard drive on the white 2.0 GHz one, to 80 gigs, you're still left with a $150 difference. For a different color. That's all I know of.

So, we're talking a $150 more just to get the exact same laptop in black. What a bunch of crap! How come I can get a black or white iPod Nano or Video iPod for the same price regardless of color? Does Apple think we're stupid? I can't think of any reason to shell out another $150 for the black color. $150 more just so your laptop looks like every other one out there. Not to mention, I hear they don't even give you black accessories with it.

Well, simple answer. Don't get the black one and move on to the white one. I think it is wonderful that there is a choice. I have the white one, but only because of the cost difference and that the PCs at work are all black.

But, gosh, if my buddy wanted a black one, I'd be more than happy to help him spend his money User uploaded file I sure wouldn't rag on his purchase.

i think i'm onto something here... i can buy black spraypaint at my hardware store for $5. the first attempt i didn't do such a hot job on putting tape over the screen, now if i can just figure out a way to kkkkkeep the kkkeys from stickkkkkking.

maybe apple really wants to keep the computers white and silver. maybe it is just a joke on windows users that are more comfortable with a black computer and apple is playing a joke on them?

The black is WAY better.

The black screen bezel makes the colors seem more vivid and actually seems larger when comparing them side by side with the white model.

The blackbook isn't gonna turn orange, pink or grey and the feet will not turn green.

The white MB looks just like an iBook. I don't want anyone to mistake my $2200 laptop with a $500 one, but that's just me.

Black looks cooler, white looks less cool.

Black Power.

no, the black iPOD's cost exactly the same as the white one. Adding a black MacBook was purely a marketing decision. There has never been a black Apple Mac before so they figured they could charge a premium for it. I went for it becuase I thought it was unique. Sure it looks like IBM ThinkPads or Dells but none of those have the looks of the MacBook. And when that Apple lights up against the black background..... Priceless!
