I have tried to update some apps purchased from the App Store but I keep getting a message:

An apple person helped me with another app I was trying to re-download. Mountain Lion. What ver he did allowed me to get the app again. I explained to him I was having the same problem trying to update other apps. He suggested coming here. The only thing I changed in the last 6 months was my password.

Any suggestions?

You have a first class Mac that is still running Snow Leopard?

What is the message? The more we know the more that we can offer.

I pasted a Screen capture into the message but it is missing now.

I pasted it again but I will type it in too. When I click on update in my purchases I get the following message:

"You have updates available for other accounts

To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it."

I don't have another account. The only thing Ihave done since January is change my password.

By the way, I have OS X 10.7.5. I was trying to download Mountain which I purchased a few months ago when I first noticed the problem. Apple iTUnes/App Store support help to fix the problem with Mountain Lion so I could download it but am still having this problem with other updates.

Basically, I get the above message when I click "Update" I my purchases.

The image did not stay in the message. I try again doing something different.

This is the message box I keep getting.

Tell us what apps that you see this with, all apps? Or perhaps the iLife apps; iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand?

I haven't had a chance to check exactly what apps are having this problem but several are not apple apps. The item that originally identified this problem was an Apple file. I was trying to re-download Mountain Lion. I kept getting the same message. App Store Support helped me with that as they removed it and then placed it back in my purchases. That worked. When I told them I was having the same problem with trying to update other purchases, the said I would need to contact Apple Support or post in the Discussiond Area. So here I am.

By the way my profile shows one thing but I am running OS X 10.7.5 Lion.

Try indexing Spotlight >  NGPixel » Mac App Store – “You have updates available for other accounts” bug

    Then restart your Mac.

If that doesn't help, quit the App Store if it's open.

Launch iTunes. From the iTunes menu bar click Store > Sign In

Then back to the menu bar click Store > Authorize This Computer

Quit iTunes. Launch the App Store. See if that made a difference.
