I am using M/S Office for MAC 2011. My iMac O/S is 10.8.3.
1) Can I back up my documents on icloud in case my iMac dies?
2) How do I back up the documents to my icloud account?

iCloud is not a backup system for Macs or PC's, you can't backup to it (except for IOS devices)
Use Time Machine.
