    Nobody knows the exact system requirements yet, but it is very likely that recent systems such as that one will be supported for using the next version of OS X.

    Apple just announced 20 mins ago that the new OS Mavericks is "being released today" and it is FREE

    I have the late 2011 17" MacBook Pro and it runs Mavericks just fine.
