Q: My Apple TV 3 wont restore no matter what I do.

So my Apple TV 3 is about 3 or 4 months old. The other day I wake up and all I see is the Apple Logo and nothing happens. So I figure its time to try my first restore. I uplug everything...connect a mini usb to it, then the computer...then plug the power cord back in. It's recognized by iTunes (updated) just fine...I start the restore....it downloads the update, verifies, prepares to restore....and thats it.

I get the 1603 Error code.

So now its time to search the web. I've done everything I can think of short of bringing it to Apple. I tried ATV 2's DFU mode since there doesnt seem to be any help online how to do this for the 3. Holding the Menu and down button till it resets. Nope. I've also tried Holding the Menu and Play Buttons to reset it. Nothing. I get different Errors as I'm doing all of these. Error 1604, 1611, and 21.  Error 21 has something to do with the Hosts file so I go to make sure everything is ok there. I comment out the line that has the Apple servers like apple told me too. Still nothing. Error 1611 is the USB I believe (dont quote me...one of them was) so I try another USB Port. Even go as far as to try plugging into my PC instead of my MacBook. Nope.

Almost forgot. I thought maybe I got a bad download. So I look online for the most recent .ipsw download it and instead of just clicking the restore button I "Option Click" the restore button which allows me to choose the newly downloaded .ipsw file. Doesnt work. Also tried an older .ipsw with no success.

So before I make the hike down to the Apple Store to ask them for a new one. Is there anything I might have missed that I can try to get this mostly new Apple TV 3, that I've never plugged into a computer before today, working?
