Possible Solution for iPhone WiFi Grey Out?

After many months of searching for a solution and fruitless calls to Apple Support/Apple Store to restore WiFi capabilities to an iPhone 4s bricked by the iOS 6 update, I believe I found the answer everyone is looking for:

Getting a Samsung Galaxy.

If anyone has any better ideas, let me know 'cuz I am at my wits' end with this.

This Mac user for over 30 years is not impressed Apple has not taken ownership of this.
