Before I go any further, just installed 4 hard drives to Mac Pro 5,1 Lion

Velociraptor 500 gb, 10,000 rpm in 2nd. drive bay. 1TB black WD in 3rd drive bay, 1TB black in 4th drive bay. 3TB green in external enclosure/back up, not Wired to Mac Pro Yet. I want the velociraptor to be system clone for fast start up and for media files. That needs to be partitioned correct? (dont have Carbon Copy Yet. I clone after formatting correct? One of the Black WD HD internal back up. The other Black HD for Extra media. Green External back up. Should I hold off on the external formatting till the internal 3 hard drives are formatted? Just not sure what to expect when I plug it back in? Thank you

.

Not sure what you want to do, though as usual one partition is just fine for 500G drive for Carbon Copy. Format it with Disk Utility before making clone drive with Carbon Copy Cloner.

Make sure you must backup the data first.
