Macbook pro 9.2 2012 won't recognise internal ssd

Hi,

I installed a new SSD in my macbook pro 9.2 mid 2012.

Everything worked great and then i wanted to update to Mountain Lion 10.8.4.

For a couple of min. it worked and then got stuck, so i manually shut down the computer (stupid me)

When I turned on the computer it won't boot and the flashing folder and question mark are blinking on my screen.

I tryed the boot cd and the disk utility wont even see the SSD that is connected.

I bought a external case for sata hdd and it won't see it either.

Also, I connected it to another PC computer right to the motherboard and it won't see it either.

Is there a chance a new ssd is just burned because of the update shut down?

I would try anything right now.

Thank you,

Tal

To be honest, it just sounds like the SSD failed. It's probably just a coincidence that it occurred during the update... or that the "stress" of the update was enough to push a faulty drive over th edge to failure. As is typically the case with these types of devices, they tend to fail early on if they are faulty. I would suggest returning it for an exchange. If your system isn't seeing it and it's not being seen on a PC, it sounds like the drive is dead. Nothing you did was responsible.
