Q: How to reinstall quicktime 10.2?

Using Mac OS version 10.8.4 on intel core i7 iMac. Tried to open QuickTime player by clicking on it in dock. Nothing happened, just got message Quicktime is missing some components--reinstall. Using Quicktime Player 10.2. Purchased Quicktime Pro many generations ago. Do I need to reinstall quicktime or something? How do I reinstall Quicktime--if in fact I need to? Is it supposed to open when clicked on in dock? Hosed my system a few months ago and reinstalled it. Is this why Quicktime doesn't open? Many thanks.

Hi William,

Quicktime 10 is a component of Mountain Lion.
You should see it in the Applications folder.
If not, do a search for Quicktime in Spotlight.
If you can't find it, you may need to reinstall Mountain Lion.

OS X Mountain Lion: Erase and reinstall OS X
