Transfer text msgs from old sim card to new

Thank you for the question. Just like most cellular phones, the iPhone uses a SIM card to determine the phone number, carrier, and features are available for the account. However, the iPhone does not store data, contacts or phone numbers on the SIM card. Messages are stored locally on a device and unable to be transferred to a new device via a SIM card. However, if you had an iPhone prior, you can backup the old iPhone via iCloud or iTunes and restore the new iPhone from backup. iCloud backups require iOS 5 or later. iPhones do not and have never stored data on the SIM.

Where did this replacement phone come from? Is it an old phone that you are trying to use temporarily?

Is it a new phone?

Restoring the phone with the most current backup of the damage device will put all the date on the new device that was on the original device at the time the backup was created.

I have an iPhone 6S, bought an iPhone 7S and I backed everything up on my 6S, sync'd it too, but when I switch my sim card all is present except my text messages... It is Verizon service, is there a way I can get ALL my text message strings on the 7S??

There is no way an iPhone ever wrote any data to that SIM. Was it possibly used in a different phone at some point? If so, that is where the data came from.
