They don't take iPods, Michael. Only iPhone, iPad, and Mac or PC desktop and notebook computers.

Apple does not take trade-ins. Some dealers may have their own trade-in programs, but you most probably can get more for your devices if you sell them yourself.

Or you can try selling them privately, or via gazelle.com or any of the other private buy-back/recycle online sites. I used gazelle for a couple of old iPhones and got good prices from them and dealing with them was easy, but they are the only such site I have personal experience with.

Apple will only give you a 10% recycling discount if you turn in an old iPod when you purchase a new iPod. Better off selling it yourself.

My iPod touch 4th generation is recently killed in a microwave because I was curious, and I want to do it for 3 sec. to charge it, but now it was unusable. Tech Rax showed me that on his iPhone 6 on YouTube. I can't sell it. I'll just recycle it and buy a new iPod touch 5th generation for 10% discount at $225.

It would even waste money. I'll just get rid of that iPod and buy an iPhone 4s 16 GB for $180.

And even on December 7, 2014, TechRax boiled his iPhone 6 with Coca Cola.
