send message when control/observe window is open?

Is it possible to send a message to a client when its control/observe window is open? It seems odd to me that I can't access any of the Manage or Interact functions when I am viewing a single client in a window of its own. When I am viewing a group of computers, and notice something that needs attention, I would like to observe that client and then interact, but I currently have to verify my concern and then close the window to be able to single click the computer from the group monitoring window and then select my Interact task...
