kenwood radio imap

I have a new Kenwood DNN770HD which uses wifi to connect to the internet via a personal hotspot. It works fine except for one thing: there is a setup screen for IMAP emails. It seems to work for the incoming mail server, but hangs on the SMTP setup. I was using the ports, etc. that Apple recommends. According to Kenwood, the radio will not work with iCloud mail, but isn't IMAP IMAP? Why wouldn't it work.

Any ideas? It does support SSL so that's not it.
