Can you download and install iTunes on a Microsoft surface pro?
I am looking at buying a surface pro and wondering if iTunes can be downloaded and installed on the tablet. If so, how?

I spoke with Microsoft and was told that iTunes can be installed on the Surface Pro, but they were unsure about the Surface 2, which is what I was looking for.
I just installed iTunes onto my Surface PRO 128. It works.
I did it so I could watch TV shows (serials) on the Surface PRO. This is a workaround to the DRM on iTunes material that protects the rights of everyone except the purchaser (OK, OK off soapbox now).
Just go to apple.com and download/install iTunes. I just had it install directly from the net because I didn't want to keep the installer on this limited-space drive in the PRO.
Also, after installation, you have to go to your account and register your Surface PRO if you want to play iTunes DRMed material.
Give it a try. You can always uninstall it.

Good grief! If Microsoft don't know what their own products can do what hope is there for the rest of us? 😕
As far as I can tell if it is a Surface 2, then like the Surface RT it won't be capable of running iTunes. If it is a Surface 2 Pro then it probably can. It boils down to features of the processor and operating system.

Thanks this helped.
I really just need to be able to sync my phone and occasionally view my iTunes content on the Surface.
I have the new Surface Pro 2. I have downloaded and installed iTunes and it works fine. Pulled in all of my movies, etc that were associated with my account.
