Facebook Status cannot be published from Notification Center

I am receving this error message every time I try posting a status to facebook:

"The post cannot be sent because the connection to Facebook failed."

I can share things like websites from Safari, or photos, but not status.

Is there something wrong on Facebook's end, or is there a bug on my end?

HI,

I don't have a Facebook account although I do know that you can use one in Messages.

Potentially a Status Message can be added to the relevant Buddy List.

However you can also log in to Facebook via Browser.

You can also make some settings in System Preferences > Mail, Calendars and Contacts but I am not sure what that would entail.

It would be helpful for other to anwer if they knew which method of logging in to Facebook you were using.
