Q: Computer randomly shuts off

I find it very weird that my computer would randomly shut off beoreI an even turn it on. When I took it in to a Mac Specialist it couldn't be diagnosed because it refused to stay on. I don't know what this issue is, but if anyone has an idea, I would love to hear it.

iBook, Mac OS X (10.6)

    Hello,

There could be a number of fault here.

First one could be something simple like a problem with the memory or a problem with the power adapter.

The best way to diagnose a fault like this, is to test the most common parts. For example try booting without the extra memory under the keyboard. Try a different power adapter ect...

Have you tried resetting the PMU?

This can often help with undiagnosed problems like this.

If it is an internal fault, then it's likely to be the DC-In board or worse, the logic board.

But first to test the things you can cheaply replace.

    Best of Luck.
