safari will not open secure sites

Safari will not open any secure sites with a secure login. Anyone have an idea why?

Welcome to Apple Discussions Sara

To narrow the possibilities down, let's take this in small steps:

Can you access secure sites using Safari from another User Account? If you don't have another user account you can create one up by going to System Preferences>Accounts, clicking the + sign on the bottom left of the panel under My Accounts. To access, log off your user account and into the other one. Try out Safari. Any change?

Also, in your existing User Account, try another browser, such as Firefox. Can you access a secured site?

Please post back.

Same issue here and yes, I can get to the secure sites using Firefox, Camino & Opera and no, when logged into the new user account I still can't access secure sites with Safari.

Also, I have been unable to purchase anything off of iTunes since this issue started. Does iTunes use Safariin some way? Any idea why the two things seem to be linked?

After successfully browsing Music Store & selecting the desired purchase, I hit the "Buy" button and get an error message saying that iTunes could not connect to the Music Store. "An unknown error ocurred (0x80010003)." It suggests I make sure my network connection is active & try again, but I'm clearly online.
