I have suffered through my stupid  Magic Mouse for a couple of years.  The problem is sometimes less  annoying, and sometimes very annoying.  Finally the Extremely Annoying  status was disconnecting every five minutes.  I couldn't take it any  longer (and wonder why I took it for so long).

I  had tried the "Put aluminum foil by the mouse contacts" trick.  I had  tried the "Put a piece of paper in the door" trick.  I had played with  the switch, which seemed a little flaky.  All to no avail.

Finally,  I took the damned thing apart.  (Search youtube for how).  I carefully  resoldered all battery post connections.  I used contact cleaner on the  switch area.  I put a slight coating of solder on all four battery  connections points.  This serves to both make the hard stainless softer  -increasing connection ease, as well as to raise the surface of the  connection points - which lessens the battery terminal distance.  (ie, a  more permenant version of the aluminum foil trick).  And I made sure  all ground connections were good.

My  conclusion:  There is a small contact from the mouse switch (not the  power switch, the click switch) that grounds this little sub-board.  I  believe there was some of the sticky gluey stuff they use during  assembly which was between this contact point and the metal case,  causing it to not be grounded.  I also believe there were cold solder  joints on the battery terminal connections to the circuit board.  And  thirdly, I believe my solder on the battery terminal connection points  helped make better contact with the battery.

Whichever  of these was the actual cause of disconnects, I don't know -but ripping  it apart, remaking solder connections, cleaning it, and adding a touch  of solder to the battery connection points completely fixed my mouse.

I can quit cursing it every 5 to 10 minutes now.
