I need step-by-step instructions to setup Airport Extreme to extend home network.

I am trying to use an Ethernet connected Airport Extreme to extend my home wi-fi network. My original wi-fi router in not an airport so I've connected the AE to my computer via an Ethernet cable to try and configure. The AE is recognized in the AirPort utility however it is blinking yellow. Under the "status" section all 3 are yellow: Internet Connection, No DNS Servers, Wireless Network. I have a feeling my setup is incorrect and I need to provide some sort of DNS config info. Can anyone help?

I'm honestly not sure of either answer. I tried to setup my AE in bridge mode and could not find an identical set of instructions to the screens I was seeing. When I click on the AE in the utility and then go to the "wireless" tab my network mode says "extend a wireless network". There was not a drop down option for moving it to "bridge mode".

My current modem was recently provided by century link and is a model C1000A. How do I know if it will allow a bridge?
