Is it possible to retrieve an edit from a document yesterday? I wrote a chapter and the screen froze. When it came up again 2 chapters disappeared

I wrote a document yesterday. For some reason screen froze. When I went back into iCloud the 2 sections of my document disappeared. My question is sine iCloud keeps track of all edits, is it possible to go back to the edit yesterday before the document disappeared. I have an iPad mini
