iBook G4 displays blue screen and cursor, then waiting icon, then repeata.

My iBook recently started booting into Darwin mode, so I reset it like I was told to and now it briefly displays the log in screen then moves to a blue screen with a cursor that I can move, which then moves on to a screen with a waiting logo and repeats this until I shut it down. Could anyone recommend a way to stop this from happening as I really need my iBook for course work and such a like. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't have the original install disks either.

iBook, Mac OS X (10.0.x)

You can try to run Apple Hardware Test, which is still available for serveral iBook models for a quick diagnosis to see if the problem is hardware related.

Which iBook do you own and which MacOS Version is installed?

There were a couple of Third-party Utilities like Alsoft Disk Warrior and Micromat Tech Tool to fix disk-related problems. Older versions for outdated MacOs Versions are not so expensive on ebay.
